The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse.
In 1991, I was a member of a church in South Africa. I was concerned about the pastor's treatment of the people and the leaders under his authority. I prayed continually for an answer from the Lord about what we were dealing with, and I saw the hurt and devastation.
I was walking through a bookstore in Durban, looking for a specific publication. While I perused the shelves in the spiritual book section, a book fell at my feet. I bent down, picked it up, and placed it back in its spot.
Later, as I walked past that area again, this same book fell at my feet. The Lord said, “Pick it up; it’s the answer you seek.”
Wow! I bought it and could not put it down; all the questions about abusive culture were in the book. Although it's a spiritual book, it highlights abuses in relationships and corporate businesses.
Please do yourself a favor: get this book. It opened my eyes to see the methods utilized to create an abusive culture.
